As I sit here in Moutaindale RV Park in Colorado Springs the weather is in the low 70's and no humidity. Dave and I have just finished 2 days of driving 880 miles, leaving a very hot and windy Texas. We just said good bye to all our friends at Inks Lake for our annual Memorial Day weekend. We did our usual bobbing, jet skiing, hiking, bike riding and of course dominos. Here a are two pictures of our camp site here in Colorado.
Our site is on a terrace with pines trees all around.
We are planning on going to Pikes Peak tomorrow on the Cog Train and do a little sight seeing of the area. In closing tonight and it is almost dark and we are starting to star gaze.

Practicing in the Texas Sun
Wanted to give you an update on our preparations for going to Yellowstone. Delaware North called and offered Dave a job at the Lake Store instead of the Marina Store. This is the same store that I am working in and this will make it much easier for us to have the same days off and to explore. The only down side is that we both will start on June 9, 2011.
This is both good news and bad, this means we don't need to be in Yellowstone until a week later than we had planned. But the good news is that we can spend more time at Inks Lake before we head north. We will still leave from Inks Lake but we are going to spend more time seeing the sites on the way to Yellowstone. We now plan to spend two nights in Cheyenne and three days in the Grand Tetons in addition to each of the places we stop at along the way. Who would've thought that it would take us 10 days to get there, boy are we slow.
We have been riding our bikes and hiking to build our stamina for Yellowstone. We have been hiking at Bastrop State Park on a trail that only has an elevation of 165 feet, I wonder how this compares to Yellowstone?????
On our hike we saw many lizards and a couple of roadrunners, we did hear a woodpecker. I'm sure the wildlife in Yellowstone will be much more interesting.
